Chuck Bein, Founder, See Music
Chuck Bein is an accomplished composer, engineer and music supervisor who has produced work for the likes of McDonald’s, Chevy, Nintendo, BlackBerry, Allstate and more. Previously a music producer at Leo Burnett, Artists and Brands, and Jira, Chuck has years of experience working directly with ad agencies as well as musicians. He recently started his own company called See Music, where he handles music supervision for advertisements and operates a recording studio for custom music and production.


Fred Buc, General Manager, WRLT/Nashville (Also was a speaker at Sunset Sessions 2009 & 2007)
A radio industry veteran for over 35 years, Fred spent nine years at WKDA and WKDF/Nashville (1976-1985) in various on-air and operational capacities, rising to Program Director of Country WKDA in 1980. Later, Fred was in Corporate Operations at Jefferson-Pilot Communications in Charlotte, NC (1989-1990), and an on-air personality at KCFX/Kansas City (1990-1992). While in K.C., he co-founded a national advertising agency before returning to his Music City roots in 1992 as Production Manager for Lightning 100. In 1995, he became Director of Operations for the station’s parent group (Tuned In Broadcasting, Inc.) and was named General Manager for the group’s five Nashville-area properties (WRLT, WRLG, WYYB, WDBL-AM & FM) in 1998.


Dennis Constantine, Program Director, KFOG/San Francisco
Veteran Triple A programmer Dennis Constantine has taken over the PD chair at Cumulus’ KFOG/San Francisco, after 11 years at KINK/Portland. Constantine has been programming successful stations for decades and was part of the team that launched what many consider the first Triple A station, KBCO/Boulder, when it was a locally owned and operated with a signal that didn’t cover the entire Denver metro. Constantine will also program sister station Classic Rock KSAN (The Bone).


Thomas Golubic, Music Supervisor, Supermusicvision
Thomas Golubic is a music supervisor, record producer and DJ. Thomas formed his company SuperMusicVision with pal and fellow KCRW DJ Gary Calamar (The Open Road) and enjoyed great success working on the HBO series “Six Feet Under,” which twice garnered the pair Grammy nominations. As a record producer, Thomas has assembled various remix projects for EMI-Capitol Records and MGM, including reinterpretations of the work of Peggy Lee, the Beach Boys, Henry Mancini’s Pink Panther theme, and EMI’s Christmas Classics compilation ‘Merry Mixmas’.

Mike Henry, CEO, Paragon Media Strategies (Also was a speaker at Sunset Sessions 2008)
Mike Henry is CEO of Paragon Media Strategies (programming research & consulting), Paragon Consulting Network (multimedia consulting), a partner in Media Mechanics (multiplatform producers), and in early 2009 he led the formation of The Radio Workout Team to address the dramatically changing needs of media lenders, brokers, receivers, trustees and owners. Henry has been a leading innovator of new radio formats for over 30 years, including “Alternative,” “Triple A,” “Modern AC,” “All News,” “NPR News,” and “Adult Hits.”

Rita Houston, Music Director, WFUV/New York
A nationally recognized tastemaker filled with a broad knowledge and passion for music, Rita Houston shapes the musical direction of WFUV’s acclaimed and unique music format. Houston came to WFUV in 1994 from Westchester’s WXPS – also known as X107 – where she hosted ‘Starlight Express,’ a show close in style to FUV’s. After anchoring the midday there for six years, she left the station to join FUV, where her discerning and varied tastes have found a welcome home. A Westchester native, Houston moved to Nyack, NY from the East Village in 2002, to plant basil and perfect her fireplace skills.


Bob Hughes, Owner, KPRI/San Diego (Also was a speaker at Sunset Sessions 2010 and 2007)
Hughes is president and CEO of Compass Radio, which independently operates KRPI (102.1 FM), and he’s also one of the dee-jays. KPRI does “Rock Without Rules”—playing acoustic hours on the weekends, classic rock, indie singer/songwriter tunes and/or anything across all genres for its 25-54 demographics. Hughes, a true mavrick—guitarist in cover band Left4Dead—had the station’s transmitter reposition to double its potential audience.

Mark Ramsey, Founder and President, Mercury Radio Research Inc.
Mark Ramsey is founder and president of Mercury Radio Research, Inc., a leading strategic consultant and research firm for radio broadcasters and satellite radio. Ramsey also publishes the Radio Marketing Nexus blog the radio industry’s best known source of marketing wisdom. Previously, Ramsey was president of Nova Marketing Group, a company of Clear Channel Communications. In 2001, Nova conducted nearly half of all Strategic Research for Clear Channel. Ramsey did some of the earliest research work in developing formats such as Alternative, Smooth Jazz, and the new JACK format.


Andrea von Foerster, Music Supervisor, Firestarter Music
Andrea von Foerster got her start in the music business while attending the University of Southern California. Andrea started working at Buena Vista Motion Pictures Group in the music department for live action features during her junior year on such films as Armageddon, Gone In Sixty Seconds and her favorite High Fidelity. Andrea has done music supervision for both film and television for the last ten years. She is currently working on Oprah’s new reality show The Big Give, MTV’s Run’s House and Life Of Ryan and three Hallmark Hall Of Fame films for CBS.
